History of the Project
In 2005 a proposal developed by Not So Pro Sports® was approved in principal though the standing RFP between the City of Toronto and NSP. This proposal represented the desire of Not So Pro Sports® and our beach volleyball teams to give back to the Ashbridges beach community and to help create a "Play Zone" partnership. In December of 2007 Not So Pro Sports® received confirmation from City of Toronto officials that a reserved fund for the "Play Zone" had been established. Words from John "The idea is to provide a safe and interactive 'Play Zone' where children would have fun learning and playing simultaneously. The delay we have experienced comes as a result of ensuring that all monies raised for this project would be placed in a separate reserve fund designated for the project. This would allow for the guarantee that all monies raised would be applied towards project construction in a timely manner. I am excited to say that the creation of this reserve fund and of this guarantee were assured in the last few days of December 2007. We will be looking to start a committee to decide on the direction of the NSP Playground to be sure to keep checking back for updates. Thank you for your continued interest"
